Inappropriate Use of Digital Media

I have observed much inappropriate digital etiquette on Facebook. Having that "faceless" appearance seems to allow people (students and adults) to find it easier to say mean or disrespectful things online that they possibly would never think of saying in a face-to-face encounter. So often the readers of posts feel it is their right to argue and spit back insults to the one who posted their personal opinion. There is nothing wrong with posting your opinion on something, but keep it civil! All the name calling and threats are nothing more than disrespect and disregard for another human. Students and adults need to be taught (or reminded) that our words and our actions will always have consequences.
