I had a friend who was constantly on her phone, no matter where she was or who was around. I remember we were going for a walk one night and were talking. But throughout the whole walk, she kept getting interrupted by texts and calls. Instead of just leaving them until she got home, she would respond/answer them all. It was supposed to be like a 20 minute walk or so, just to catch up. But she spent the whole time on her phone. It made me feel disgusted in her and unimportant at the time. I think there is a time and place for everything and I think that digital tools are great, but when you become so dependent on them and you can't leave them alone or they interfere with people right in front of you, they can become a problem. I try to remember this and how I felt when I am with my friends and family. 99% of the time, the text messages can wait until later.
