Inappropriate Use of Digital Media

As a parent of teen age girls I have seen first hand the inappropriate use of social media.  When they get upset they get on facebook and make comments about their friends which starts a word war of who is going to hurt the other more.  One time one of my daughters got threatened by a guy on the internet telling her to die.  I went to the police station to see if they could get this boy to leave my daughter alone and the officer said just block the person.  How does that work when they have common friends?  Then I went to the county attorney to see if anything could be done and they said to do the same thing and if it happened again after they have been blocked to document it and they would send a letter to the guy.  I have taught my girls to be kind to others and to protect their family and friends.  They took it to the extreme and got involved in other people's drama that comes back to haunt them. I still preach not to post everything about themselves on the internet or get involved in other people's drama.  Do they listen?  Time will tell.
