It is important to teach students, or your own children, to be careful of what they "like" on Facebook and Instagram. "Liking" inappropriate photos or comments fuel the inappropriate poster and make the liker look ignorant, hurtful or inappropriate. While social media is fun for some preteens and teens to use, it is inappropriate when others feel excluded or bullied.
I have read posts of friends that have vented on Facebook about situations at their child's school or situations at work.
I have seen emails that have been written intended for only one person, but that person will forward it to another and then someone else hits "reply all" with another email. This can be very awkward. I guess a good rule of thumb is to never write something that you wouldn't want someone else to see.
All of the above situations seemed inappropriate to me.
