Inappropriate Use of Digital Media

I was recently the recipient of a crude comment on a picture I posted on Facebook. I found it quite inappropriate and my reaction was to immediately unfriend the person. The purpose of social media is to share events, experiences, ideas, jokes, etc. It is not the place to make explicit comments. Afterall, it's public.
