Inappropriate Use of Digital Media

I have not personally been the recipient of inappropriate digital media nor have I used digital media in an inappropriate manner. However, teaching in a middle school, I see everyday that teenagers do not understand the consequences of their actions through technology. They do not understand how something that they post today can follow them throughout high school, college, and even to their employment. We hear of individuals missing out on employment opportunities when prospective employers check a person's digital footprint. We as Educators must educate our students about the consequences of inappropriate use of digital media. We must also educate them about the appropriate ways to use digital media.
