Inappropriate Use of Digital Media

Share a time when you or someone you know was the recipient of an inappropriate use of digital media or when you might have used digital media in an inappropriate manner. I am careful with my digital footprint, so I cannot recall a time where I received or used digital media poorly. I am a member of numerous groups online and I do see often times where people become disrespectful or personally attack someone when they disagree with an opinion. I scroll past and do not get involved.

 How did this make you or others feel? What might have been done differently? It really bothers me because when I see bullying happening in the halls of my school, I do interfere and assist. Online, it is so different, I tend to ignore it. I don't think that is right, but I don't want to become the subject of someone's ire. I know I probably won't change how I do things online, but I try to pay more attention to how I teach my own children to navigate their online presence.
