Inappropriate Use of Digital Media

Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat are all full of inappropriate use.  You see it all the time, people commenting on all types of topics. They come off as ignorant, insensitive, or just plain rude. Recently, the political climate has brought on these type of comments.  It is painful to read and I often feel embarassed and sorry for these people.  We need to educate our students to not fall into the trap of one sided opinion and I'm right, so you are wrong kind of thinking.  Everyone is entitled to their opinion but it doesn't make it right to belittle other's opinions.  We need to teach that it is important to respect each others opinions and have rational and civil digital coversations where you may not agree but you understand that there are other point-of-views to consider.
