Every year, the inappropriate use of email is a concern. This is because many of my students are young enough that it is the first time they have used email independently. It is not just students though, it is also other faculty. Students often start by sending emails just trying to make a friend laugh that say silly things or have a long line of emojis with no thought to how the message will be received, even when sent to the teacher. Faculty seem to think "reply all", forwarding messages with sensitive information at the bottom, and sending emails with only a detailed subject with no text in the body are totally acceptable. Usually, within a month or so norms are made clear and things get better but email etiquette is one area that seems to be never ending.
