Having grown up in the digital media evolution the past 27 years of teaching, I've witnessed how quickly the technology changes to allow for misuse. One of the first times I witnessed this was in the Napster era (definitely dating myself) . Students and teachers at the time in my school were making use of the platform to download music, videos, and images. As the law caught up with the technology, the use of it ramped up with multiple alternative programs. It ultimately distracted from educational time and left the technology coordinator scrambling for solutions that didn't quite exist yet. This cycle has continued to exist just with different players and programs.
