Every year, we have issues at our school with kids using social media to "trash" or tear people down. It seems to be mostly at the junior high level; about the same time that most students are given a smart phone and more freedom from their parents. It is more proof that they are acting without guidance and knowledge of how to handle this new found freedom in the palm of their hand.
I struggle with YouTube. My son loves to watch shows on our computer. I am amazed with the "crap" that he has stumbled into. We have had to limit his time to only when we can directly supervise him and watch along.
It is very difficult to monitor content being accessed from Chromebooks at our school. Many students are watching/playing multiple games and shows all day long. It is a constant battle to try to keep up.
