Inappropriate Use

Amy Block
I have witnesses elementary students with devices such as cell phones and ipads use them to play violent video games instead of doing what they were asked: Read or use their devices for something educational related to the classroom. In this case, I think it is a responsibility of school leaders to enforce the rules that have been written in school handbooks. The learning about values and responsibility starts with adults.

Amy, I agree that school leaders need to take the lead on educating the students and enforcing the rules in regard to digital devices.  Students are given free reign on the internet and it is up to the adults to set the boundaries and check in with the students to make sure they are held accountable to appropriate use.  No action = permission to do as they please.

Joan, I like how you summed that up: No action=permission to do as they please.
