Inappropriate digital media

Share a time when you or someone you know was the recipient of an inappropriate use of digital media or when you might have used digital media in an inappropriate manner. How did this make you or others feel? What might have been done differently?

Being in the school setting I have seen more inappropriate use of digital media than I care to remember. Several instances of bullying. One instance that has stuck with me goes like this. I am in my classroom before school preparing for the day when one of my students came into my room threw their bag down, plopped down in a chair, and started crying uncontrollably. After getting them to breath and settle down enough to tell me what was going on they showed me a video that was posted on twitter of her. To say the least it was very embarrassing, and the comments made were mortifying. My heart ached for this girl and angered me. The student missed a week of school because she was so upset.
