Inappropriate use of Digital Media

My son and his friend heard a rumor that a boy had sent naked pictures to a girl. The two boys texted the girl and asked her if it was true. She sent the picture to him. His musical sponsor overheard the conversation and called us. He was technically in trouble with the law because it was sent to his phone. We made him go talk to the principle first thing the next morning. She called the police. They took his phone and did an investigation. He did not get in trouble because he hadn't asked for the picture. After speaking with the principle we decided that she would suspend him from playing in one basketball game and that he would have to explain to his team why he couldn't start and play that night.  I think it was a good learning experience as a parent and a teacher. I know it was a good learning experience for my son.
