Inappropriate use of Digital Media

There are many examples of inappropriate use of digital media that I have experienced personally or have heard of happening.  The most recent example I can think of happened just a few months ago.  An older friend of mine accepted a Facebook friend request from a person she did not know and had no mutual friends with.  I began to be more and more concerned for my friend.  Apparently this man that was messaging her claimed to be in the military and was overseas.  He was set to be discharged and planned to be home in the United States by Christmas.  After Christmas passed and he didn't show up like he had said he would, I did some investigating myself.  I put the man's profile picture into Google Reverse Image search and found that he was an internet predator.  There were several articles and alias listed for this particular man.  The stories were all the same and this man had scammed many women out of thousands of dollars.  Sometimes even adults can become victims of in the digital world.
