Share a time when you or someone you know was the recipient of an inappropriate use of digital media or when you might have used digital media in an inappropriate manner. How did this make you or others feel? What might have been done differently?
A colleague of mine once shared a story with me about their son. Apparently the son had been involved in some kind of issue where students were sharing inappropriate and probably illegal pictures of some of their classmates. It was really scary for them because they thought there was a chance he could be arrested or charged for it. He apparently said he did not save or share any of the photos himself but he had seen them on other students’ phones. In the end I believe some of the students were charged for it but not their son. It is good that he was careful not to get directly involved but it probably would have been a better idea to come forward when he knew it was going on instead of waiting until it was discovered and then trying to prove innocence..
