Inappropriate use of digital media

My daughter had a boyfriend who assaulted her a number of years ago. Upon contacting the police, he went on the run. However he communicated with me after that, on a social media site and basically told me that if he had wanted her dead, she would be dead. How did that make me feel? It made me certain that I wanted him prosecuted for his crimes against my daughter. It made me certain that I wanted no more communication with him via any device or site or telephone or visit in person. Threats of harm have no place in a civilized nation. He was a bully and he deserved the jail time he got when he returned to our region several years after the event. I have little patience for bullying. I know that young people, when trying to feel powerful, can be bullies. I think this tendency needs to be anticipated and addressed, hopefully ahead of time. I can still feel my own fear after this person communicated his threats to me regarding my daughter. This is another variety of crime. I think these actions should be investigated and prosecuted.
