Inappropriate use of digital media

As a sub I have heard kids talking about posts on social media about someone they don't know. After listening to them talk about an embarrassing photo that was posted I had a talk with the students. The student of the photo that was posted was mad, embarrassed and felt betrayed. I myself felt bad for the student that the post was about. I feel if the kids were educated more on digital citizenship, they may have not done what they did.
