Share a time when you or someone you know was the recipient of an inappropriate use of digital media or when you might have used digital media in an inappropriate manner. How did this make you or others feel? What might have been done differently?
I have seen students send nasty messages to one another online and those messages have spilled over into school and caused all kinds of issues. My grandma had someone email her asking for money and she ended up sending money that she couldn't afford to lose to an online scammer.
In addition, I have used poor judgement and engaged in online "discussions" with others that have spiraled out of control. I do know better, it is just easy to get caught in the heat of the moment. What I would have done differently is taken a day or so and thought about what I wanted to say instead of just firing back while having elevated feelings and emotions. If I would have given myself time, I would not have posted what I did.
