I have a 15 year old son and have found it interesting trying to help him navigate the world of cell phones, texting, etc. My son is very shy so texting is easier for him than having a conversation sometimes. He will sometimes get numbers of the people he wants to text from his friends rather than directly from the person he wants to contact. I feel it is important for him to understand that he should not be texting someone that he wouldn't normally have a face to face conversation with. It is an ongoing discussion topic for us!
