When looking for social networks and resources on Instagram, I looked for people and organizations that would help me better meet my students’ needs in the technical and professional communications class including both face-to-face and online classes. Some of the people/organizations that I looked up and subsequently Followed include--
@officialapastyle
@usucareerdesigncenter
@utahstate.ag
Again, much like Twitter, I looked to the APA Style resource specifically for graduate students. Then I looked up the Utah State University (USU) Career Design Center because I use a plethora of their resources and tutorials due to their rich information and easy to understand format and organization. The Career Design Center is a powerhouse in helping the undergraduates prepare for future careers in their fields of study.
Finally, again like Twitter, I looked to the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences at USU to better gain knowledge on the types of majors, minors, certificates, etc. that students in my classes may be pursuing (e.g., Agricultural Systems, Agricultural Education—both Formal and Informal, etc.)
I realize that these Instagram accounts may not help others taking this course due to being outside of the USU community but, perhaps similar organizations in your geographic area exist to help you better understand technical communications in the field of studies that your students are pursuing 9th grade-higher education.
