I enjoy using instagram - I follow some celebrities and both of my kids - LOL! It's fun to share vacation photos and family photos. I follow way more people than follow me, but that is to be expected, I think. As far as education purposes go, Instagram can be used by teachers as a way to share photos of classroom happenings with parents/other school personnel. You can control who follows the account so it will be safe, and parents can give permission for photos of their kids to be used on the class Instagram account.
