This is a newer chat site/app. You are supposed to be over 13 to have a site, however, I know that our students are using this site/app regularly to chat with their friends. When creating an account it asks to have access to all your contacts, locations, and identity information that can be found on your smartphone. This is something that adults don't often think of, and I know that students don't think about it. Many times you are allowing someone's, other than yourself, information to be viewed as well. Right away after creating an account it asks to have access to your contacts to find other people with Kik accounts. YIKES!! So any numbers, such as coaches, that I just haven't deleted then are free game for this app. There really is no way to set privacy settings easily. This just seems very dangerous. Anyone can create a profile and then proceed to talk to others.
