I checked my Instrgram account and I make sure that I had to approve a request from another user to follow me. I also have the ability to send a report to Instagram if I do get a post from someone that is inappropriate, hate speech, false information, bullying and/or harassment, etc. I can also unfollow someone if they begin posting things that are inappropriate.
