I reviewed my Facebook settings. I do not post very often and am careful about the pictures and words I use. Our district has made it clear that we should avoid engaging in online discussions about the school district, students, etc. I do have Facebook friends who are parents of students, but I never accept a friend request from students. I always tell them to ask again 30 days after they graduate!
I was surprised by the number of settings available, and particularly interested in the ad settings. I would encourage everyone to look at that.
I also looked at Snapchat settings, since that is an app used much more by my children and students. I found fewer options, but did like the options that said, "I Need Help", I Have a Privacy Question", and "I Have a Safety Concern".
