Internet Safety-Twitter

Aaron Hamann
On twitter, posts are public and immediately viewable by all unless you use non-public options such as protected tweets or direct messages. The IP address and the type of device being used is automatically collected on every tweet. Twitter uses the content of your tweets, retweets, likes along with your age and people you follow to determine relevant content to suggest and include in your twitter feed. Their last update was on May 25, 2018.

One idea that I took away from the news story included in this section is to create a profile for yourself on social media, even if it is not going to be used by you. That way someone else cannot use your name and likeness to create an account and use it in a manner in which you would not necessarily agree.
