Internet Safety

One of the only Social Media sites that I use is Facebook.  I choose to use Facebook because I am familiar with it and I only have to worry about safety on one platform.  I have gone in to my settings and restricted my profile to only friends.  I know that the public can still see my profile pictures so I made sure to scrutinize the photos that appear in my profile picture album.  I limited who can request me as a friend.  I limited who could see my posts.  I made it so that I have to approve posts before they show up on my timeline.  Above all else I am conscious about what I say and what I share.  I do share articles about things I am interested in but I read them and evaluate them to make sure they represent what I believe and that they are fact based.  I make sure that I am not using inappropriate language, even when upset.  I have not had anything adverse come about from having my one Facebook profile and I expect and hope it will remain that way.
