I looked at my Facebook privacy settings. They sent me through what they called a privacy checkup. I was totally shocked to see that my phone number was public knowledge. I don't ever remember providing it except to unlock my account if I forget my password. I think this was a good reminder to keep on top of privacy settings in any social media accounts we have. I thought I was being careful about keeping my posts to friends only but never had a clue that my phone or email were public. In the future I will take time to manage these settings better.
This same thing happened to a family member of mine. It wasn't until someone pointed it out to her that she realized her email, the town she lived in, and her phone number were all public knowledge. It made our entire family double check the settings on our Facebook to ensure our private information was being protected.
