I am not currently on any social media, but have chosen Facebook as some in my family do have Facebook accounts. There are some Facebook privacy related items that need continual attention. First, make sure whenever you post something you have chosen the correct setting: private or public. Be aware that Facebook features concerning privacy are updated more frequently than you might think - so check. Know that anything that gets posted might be read by someone that you didn't intend, in spite of all precautions you've taken.
