Internet Safety

Mark Kohorst
I have both a Facebook and Twitter account, I am fairly new or inexperienced on using either one of them.  I have checked my settings on each account to protect my personal information, monitor who is trying to add me as a "Friend", etc.  As a teacher/coach I would like to use social media to benefit my teaching/coaching career, but it is hard to "trust" or add someone I do not know from the general population because of the possible ramifications a post by them might cause to my career.  Choosing to make my Twitter account confidential is one option, but I think it then defeats the purpose of announcing things/topics to students/athletes/parents?  Right now I have chosen to be cautious in regards to each medium until my comfort level in each increases.
