I logged in to facebook for this and double checked my privacy settings to make sure things were set to only friends. I also went through my friends list and made sure I actually knew everyone I was "friends" with. I was surprised to see how many of my "friends" had more than 750 friends. I would recommend that people check their friend list.
I also recently created an instagram account and am surprised at how many people wanted to follow me that I had no idea who they were. I am still working on getting that one under control.
