I use Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram on a daily basis. I have checked the Facebook privacy settings and I have certain items on private. However, my Instagram is open to public to view, but I turned off my location settings so my photos cannot be attached to a certain location. That is an issue that many people may not be aware of. There is a way to figure the exact location of where an image was taken and I could get directions online to find this person or place. I have made it aware to students and they turned off the location settings for that app. With technology and apps constantly updating and changing, it important to stay up to date with the privacy settings.
I liked the advice given by the gentleman in the video above. Before you post, ask yourself these questions: Are you comfortable with sharing this information with complete strangers and are you comfortable with sharing with 6 o'clock news?
