Internet Safety

Kairee Treinen
The only social media account I have and use is Facebook. I never really pay attention to my settings and didn’t realize how many settings there really are. I know at one time I had set a few things to only friends can see my posts, but that isn’t very secure. I found a few different places on Facebook with different settings you can choose for privacy. I found that Meta is in the privacy Center and helps you set up settings for all of your social accounts. Facebook offers a code generator which protects your account from hacking and unauthorized account access. I didn’t realize this was an option and should utilize it. Another setting I found was for if you die or something happens to you that you cannot access your account. You can set up a legacy contact who can deactivate my account if I would pass away. They can also memorialize my account which allows friends to see memories of you. I found a few things that I never knew existed or bothered to look at.
