I looked at both Facebook and Instagram. As a whole, Facebook has a lot more information that could be detrimental for people to have public. They have when you graduated, where you live, where you grew up, where you work, age, gender, things that you like, and so on. All of that is public unless you have chosen for it not to be. Instagram does not have as much information that could be harmful, so having a public account is less worrisome, unless you choose to post personal details on there. As a rule of thumb, having a private account is always more secure.
