I already had a Facebook account, so I used that one for this assignment. I had recently become aware of advanced security features and had altered my account, but checked today to be sure. One thing you can do is make sure that your profile is only visible to "friends" not "public". That way if someone searched for me (like an old high school friend) they could locate me, but not see any of my info. If they ask to be my friend and I allow it, then and only then is my profile information available to them. I also took my phone number off of my profile because I heard that some telemarketing schemes were pulling phone numbers off of social media sites. If a friend doesn't already have my phone number, they can ask me!
