Lack of filter

One of the main things that comes to mind about this topic is an experience that has long since passed, but still make me scratch my head. I had just started at a new high school as a language arts teacher. About three weeks into the school year I overheard two students talking about what they had stumbled upon on one of the school computers. Long story short, the school did not have an internet filter. I went to the tech person, who was also new and had no idea. Together we went to the principal and reported the situation.
