Learning About vs Figuring it Out

Terri
The difference between "learning about" and "figuring out how and/or why" is that learning about means that a teacher is giving information. The teacher is giving general knowledge, examples, discussions, and videos. Figuring out means they are starting with the questions and building from there.

Based on all the research, figuring things out is the best idea. Figuring things out allows for questions and curiosity to develop.

Figuring things out would be included in this section because that's what the new standards are using. It's how students learn best, curiosity.
