Due to the reality of the digital world changing all the time, I feel it is important for educators to stay up to date on current trends and uses to help students remain safe while using digital resources. Educators need to be diligent in teaching about the dangers of the digital world and teaching students how to stay safe and make responsible decisions. Social media sites seem to be the norm in current times and can be quite beneficial in the classroom environment. Though social media can be a great tool/resource in the classroom, this too needs to be taught about the safety and responsibilities of utilizing this digital resource. It seems informing ourselves as educators, parents and the community is the key to helping students be aware and responsible.
