Netiquette

I received an email from a students with a rather direct using of profanity towards me.  The student was addressed and it was apparent that this student was not behind the message. This students was mortified that I thought he was the one that sent it. We never found out who or how his email account was accessed.

When a person is attacked using digital means, there can be a lot of unknowns. A student may not know who is saying it or who all have become an audience/participant in the attack.  This makes a victim feel insecure and unsafe in nearly every environment.
