From a user perspective there needs to be more protection in social media applications online for young children. I have a daughter who signed up for a social media app. Even though she has the "children's" account and we entered her birthday, the content she was receiving was wildly inappropriate. There needs to be transparency from sites and applications on what information they collect from users. Also, those same sites and applications need to be held accountable for material they are providing to users who are known minors.
