Norms and Responsibilities - Tyler Bleckwehl

Tyler Bleckwehl
As a father and teacher I feel one of the biggest responsibilities and rights of digital citizens is a right to privacy.  I am a private person and am not on very many social media apps and I want to be in control or my personal information and how that information is shared.  However, I am concerned with how my information or the information of my children is being shared when we sign up for a new app or even the cookies that are used when we visit websites.  I feel that digital citizens should be able to trust the apps and websites that we use and be assured that security measures are in place to protect our personal information or to protect our data from breaches.

Lots of people mention the right to privacy, but still use social media.  I am the same way. I don't mind being "out there" until I do.  I am also concerned with how data is shared and used.  And that MY data is making money for someone else. What would it actually take to change it so that our data was better protected?
