My generation looked at the internet as more of a privilige than a right. The generations to follow view it not as only a right (which can be argued) but a necessity for learning. I subsittute teach and often have students who sit their in class and refuse to do anything if their computer does bring up the correct reading or assignment. They have a point, but seem to use it as their excuse to check out. Each assignment is submitted electronically, so truly if they have technology issues they miss out on a great deal of learning that day. I feel we should use technology more for out of class transmissions rather than all the readings. It could be easily broadcast on the white boards and they while it would cause students to maintain more of the same pace, there would be better interaction.
