Norms and Responsibilities

Simply stated, student norms and responsibilities should allow for equal access to technology for all students, provided it is being used in an appropriate and acceptable manner. Students do have a right to privacy, but because they are minors, there needs to be an adult (parent/teacher) who has access to what they post online at all times. They have the right to freedom of speech, but need to understand exactly what that means....your opinion has value, but it must not infringe on the rights of others or cause harm to others (yelling fire in a movie theater or infringing on others' learning).
