The digital world has somewhat become a haven for open speech without consequences. These individuals and groups that treat it as such are not upholding their responsiblity to be a decent person to others and themselves. In reality there are consequences and damages that can occur. It is much more difficult to model or lead by example in the digital world. We have a responsibility as educators to teach students and hold each other up to the highest standard of digital citizenship.
