Norms and Responsibilities

It is very important to teach our students about the rights, uses and dangers of the using the digital media and how to be a good citizen online. When at school, the primary purpose of using the Internet must be related directly to schoolwork. Students should be taught copyright laws and other laws that apply when on the Internet. Students need to understand every time they post online, snapchat, tweet, etc, they are creating a digital footprint which are permanent.  Many employers look online at prospective employee’s digital images to see what type of a person they are.  Everyone should be respectful when posting messages/pictures on the Internet or on any devise. I always tell students not to post anything that their grandma wouldn't be proud of seeing. It is very important for teachers to constantly monitor student use and schools should have consequences for misuse of the Internet and devises.
