Norms and Responsibilities

The norms in the digital world need to focus on appropriate responsible behavior.  User rights for privacy need to be protected.  Anyone who posts pictures on Facebook should not be subjected to the picture going viral because of crude or inappropriate comments. We need to use our freedom of expression to appreciate differences in people and develop empathy toward all.  When we are respectful of others, our comments will not be revengeful or hurtful.  I model correct commenting with students grade 2 - 4 when posting to their blogs.  They learn to compliment, ask questions, add information or make connections to keep the conversation going.
