I feel that all users of digital technology should be able to post free speech. They should be entitled to express their opinions, just as they are in-person, whether they are liked or not. Additionally, users of the digital world should be entitled to a degree of privacy. I feel that some companies are becoming overzealous of screening potential employees' social media accounts for reasons to hire/not hire them; that should not need to happen.
On the other hand, users of technology should also be responsible for what they post. They must realize that, while there are ways to make posts on social media private, one screenshot or retweet can very well tarnish their reputations. Thus, users must be responsible. They should present themselves in a professional manner.
Additionally, users should be responsible for using the Internet appropriately. All too often, people use the anonymity of the Internet in ill will, bullying others and causing undue emotional trauma. They also post inappropriate content, download illegal music/software, and also expose their devices to malware. Teaching users at a young age to use their devices appropriately will help curb this.
