I think it is important for teachers to monitor what students are doing on computers as much as possible. My school has been 1:1 for many and years and there have been a few issues during that time. Young people don't always realize that the information they share is seen by many people and may not ever go away. It takes someone seconds to screenshot content. It is important for educators to make it clear to students that what you post on social media sites can be seen by many and used against you. An example in the news is the Harvard students that lost their scholarships because of inappropriate memes they posted to a facebook group. Students need to understand that their presence on social media is linked to their character as well.
