The whole digital world is overwhelming. There are definite rights that should be exercised at school, but schools can only do so much. What happens when the child goes home and a parent does not exercise any rights and allows their children to access inappropriate websites and submit personal information to a wrong website/person? The child is conflicted and doesn't know how/when to exercise these rights.
Parents also need to be taught digital rights and responsibilities.
Food for thought...How many people start a text off with a salutation, or do you just start texting without acknowledging the recipient of the text?
