Norms and responsibilities - it starts with me

Our rights and responsibilities for the digital world should be the same rights and responsibilities of being a US citizen.  We should have the freedom to express ourselves but at the same time respecting the rights, beliefs and opinions of others.  What I believe to be lacking is balance.   We think our right to express outweighs respect of others. I feel that we have lost the meaning of respect in modern society.  We don't respect our parents, teachers, police, or elected officials.  Unless we teach what respect is, it won't be carried over in the digital world either.  We can disagree but it needs to be done respectfully.  This example starts with me.
